RN/RM 1
Part-time and casual increments require 1,800 worked hours and at least 12 months on the increment. From 1 April 2028 the ladder is renumbered: the Re-entry rate leaves the RN 1.x sequence, RN 1.2 becomes RN 1.1 and so on up to RN 1.8 becoming RN 1.7, and a new top increment (RN 1.8) is added. Each row here follows the same pay point through the renumbering.

Notes

  • Rates are ordinary hourly rates, effective from the first full pay period on or after each date.
  • The 1 October 2022 to 1 October 2024 columns are the Ramsay Health Care Queensland Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2023–2025 ([2023] FWCA 2998, AE521531), which passed its nominal expiry on 30 June 2025 and continues to operate until the new agreement is approved.
  • The 1 October 2025 to 1 October 2028 columns are Schedule A of the replacement Ramsay Health Care Queensland Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2025–2029, voted up by employees and lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval on 21 August 2026 (application AG2026/2289). It had not yet been approved when these tables were transcribed from the lodged text; approval decisions rarely change the pay tables, but the figures will be re-checked against the approved agreement.
  • Increases under the 2025–2029 agreement: +3% from 1 October 2025, +2.5% from 1 October 2026, +2.5% from 1 October 2027, +3% from 1 April 2028 and +3% from 1 October 2028. Each step applies from the first full pay period on or after its date, and the 1 October 2025 step is paid retrospectively however late approval lands (cl 4.1).
  • The new agreement commences seven days after Fair Work Commission approval. Everything the agreement changes “on commencement” — the casual loading rising from 23% to 25%, the weekly Uniform Allowance, the per-shift Lead Apron Allowance, the three new classifications (Enrolled Nurse — Advanced Practice, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Manager) and the manager loading exclusions — starts on that day rather than on 1 October 2025.
  • Casual loading: 23% under the 2023–2025 agreement, 25% from the 2025–2029 agreement’s commencement. Penalties and the casual loading are each calculated on the base rate and added together — they do not compound.
  • Overtime steps at 3 hours, not 2: 150% for the first 3 hours then 200%, Monday to Saturday. Sunday overtime is 200%, and public holiday overtime 250%. Casual overtime rates are inclusive of the loading: 173% / 223% / 223% / 273% under the 2023–2025 agreement, becoming 175% / 225% / 225% / 275% from commencement.
  • Nurse Unit Managers, Level 4 Registered Nurses and Clinical Nurse Managers are excluded from the overtime and on-call provisions and from the meal-break double-time rule. From commencement, the 2025–2029 agreement also withholds shift and weekend loadings from these three roles (cl 5.3.2); public holiday pay is unchanged.
  • Shift and weekend loadings apply to ordinary hours only, and where more than one could apply only the highest is paid — afternoon and night penalties are not payable on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday where the weekend/holiday rate applies.
  • Standard full-time hours are 38 per week, with a maximum of 10 ordinary hours a day unless on a 12-hour shift roster.
  • Progression: part-time and casual increments require 1,800 worked hours and at least 12 months on the increment. Registered Nurse Level 1 is renumbered from 1 April 2028 (see the Level 1 table).
  • Annual leave is 5 weeks, or 6 weeks for shift workers regularly rostered across seven days (and for staff who rotate through the required minimum of day, afternoon and night shifts in a year). A further 38 hours accrues for 20+ call-ins or 75+ on-call periods in a year.
  • Greenslopes Private Hospital keeps its site rule of a 20% penalty on day-shift time worked before 6:00am; the 2023–2025 agreement’s $13.50 night shift special payment does not appear in the lodged 2025–2029 text.
