New job, new contract

Signed the paperwork? Hand MyRoster the PDF and your first roster can show what it pays.

Your award isn't built in

Private employer, individual contract or another country: your own document sets up your pay.

A pay rise kicks in

Pay rises come across with their start dates, so the new rate starts on the right shift.

A second job on the side

Add another job from its own contract in Multi-Job Mode and see what each one pays.

From your PDF to your pay, in four steps

MyRoster does the reading. You do the checking. Start it during setup, when you change jobs, or when you add a second one.

  1. The What do you do? setup page scrolled to the From My Contract card, below a line under the job types, ticked.

    Choose From My Contract

New to MyRoster? Pick it on “What do you do?” during setup. Already using it? Start from Change Job, or add a second job in Settings › Multi-Job Mode › Manage Profiles.

  2. The From My Contract page explaining what MyRoster sets up from a document and how it works, with a Choose PDF button.

    Pick your PDF

Choose your contract, award or enterprise agreement from Files. A few quick setup questions later, MyRoster starts reading it.

  3. The Reading your document screen: Uploading done, Finding the pay pages in progress, and a Keep using MyRoster button.

    Get on with your day

Reading can take a few minutes. A row at the top of Settings shows how it’s going, and a notification tells you when your pay setup is ready.

  4. Settings after saving, with the job card showing Support Worker, NSW, 0.75 FTE and the hourly rate.

    Check it, then save

Go through Your Pay Setup with your document beside you, change anything that’s wrong, and tap Save. From then on, your shifts are worked out from it.

The pay rules buried in your paperwork

The rates, loadings and allowances you’d otherwise hunt through clauses to find, pulled into your pay setup in one go.

Pay rate and pay rises

Your hourly rate, plus every pay rise in the document with the date it starts.

Penalty rates

Evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays, set up by day type: weekday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.

Overtime

The overtime rules your document sets out, ready for the shifts that run long.

On-call pay

What you’re paid to be on call, so those nights count too.

Allowances

Every allowance it finds, listed for you to switch on the ones you’re paid.

Leave & Super

Your leave loading and your employer’s super, alongside the rest of your pay.

The Day Types section listing Weekday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday, each with a summary and a page number.
The Pay Rate card starting 3 November 2026 and two Pay Rise cards starting 1 July 2027 and 1 July 2028.

It reads. You decide.

Everything it found is laid out on Your Pay Setup for you to check against your document. It’s a starting point, not a guarantee, so the final say is always yours.

Every figure shows where it came from

Each item on Your Pay Setup carries the page number it was read from. Tap it and that page of your document opens right over the review, so checking a rate takes a glance, not a hunt.

  • A page number on each rate, rule and allowance
  • Tap it to open that page of your document
  • Check each part against what your document says
  • Change anything that’s wrong before you save
Page 2 of the contract open over the review screen, with a Done button, after tapping a page number.

Only the allowances you’re actually paid

Not every allowance in a document applies to you, so every allowance starts switched off, and you switch on the ones you’re paid. Tap a row to change its amount or how often it’s paid.

  • Every allowance in your document, listed
  • All switched off until you switch them on
  • Change an amount or how often it’s paid
The Allowances section with the Laundry allowance switched on and the First aid and Annual uniform allowances off.

What it couldn’t set up, it tells you

Not every rule fits neatly into a pay setup. Anything MyRoster couldn’t set up is listed under Not Set Up Automatically, quoted from your document with its page, so you can add it yourself.

  • Not Set Up Automatically quotes each rule it couldn’t set up
  • Check These flags anything to look at first
  • Worked Examples show sample pay for the rules you have
The Not Set Up Automatically section quoting the rules MyRoster couldn't set up, each with a page number.

Nothing changes until you tap Save

Reading your document changes nothing on its own. Your pay is only set up when you say so.

Not ready? Keep for Later

Close the review and tap Keep for Later. It waits for you in the row at the top of Settings.

Edit any time after

After saving, change your pay rules any time in Settings › Work Profile › Custom Pay Rules.

How Custom Pay Rules work

From sample contract to saved pay setup

Follow a sample contract all the way through: choose From My Contract, pick the PDF, let it read, check the pay rate, a day’s rates and the allowances, see what it couldn’t set up, then save. Pause wherever you like, or follow the written guide a step at a time.

No sound needed: every step is captioned.

Recorded as: Community Support Worker from a sample contract, NSW, Custom Pay Rules

What MyRoster can read

If a document sets out what you’re paid, it’s worth handing over. A few things help it read well.

Contracts, awards and agreements

An employment contract, an award or an enterprise agreement (EA or EBA): if it sets out your pay, it’s worth a read.

English PDFs, up to 600 pages

From a two-page contract to a full enterprise agreement. Pick it straight from Files on your iPhone.

Typed reads best

Documents with real text work best. Photos or scans of paper may not read well.

Locked or unreadable files

A locked or unreadable PDF is turned away, and a file that can’t be read doesn’t count toward your reads.

Already built in? You’ll be offered the shortcut

If your document is an award or agreement MyRoster already has built in, you’re offered the built-in setup instead. You can still read it anyway, or set up by hand.

Your pay, wherever you work

Built-in rates cover Australia, New Zealand and the UK’s NHS, plus nurses in every Canadian province and territory. Anywhere else, your own contract or agreement can now set up your pay.

Your document, handled with care

A contract is personal. Here’s what happens to yours, in plain words.

You choose what to share

MyRoster only reads a document when you pick one. It sends that PDF and a few details that help set up your pay, and nothing else from your phone.

Stored securely

Your document and the pay details read from it are kept securely on Google Cloud, and used to set up your pay and make this feature better.

Used for your pay, not for training

Your document is read by the AI services MyRoster uses for one job: setting up your pay. It’s never used to train AI.

You’re in control

Want it removed? Email hello@myrosterapp.com.au any time and it’s taken care of.

By uploading a document you confirm you’re allowed to share it. The pay setup it suggests is a starting point, not advice, so check it against your payslip before relying on it. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service have the full details.
