Step 1: Open Settings.
Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2: Open your Work Profile.
Your job is the card at the top of Settings. Tap it to open your Work Profile, which has where you work, your role and grade, and more. Same job, just a new state? Where You Work has its own dated change.
Step 3: Open Role & Grade.
New grade in the same job? Tap your role under Role & Grade.
Step 4: Pick your new grade.
Scroll down to your role's grades and tap your new one. In this example, 5th Year.
Step 5: Tap Done.
Tap Done at the top right.
Step 6: Choose when it started.
The box shows what's changing (here, 4th Year to 5th Year). Tap the date your new grade started. In this example, 17 October, the start of a pay period. Shifts before this date keep your old pay.
Step 7: Tap Confirm.
Tap Confirm at the top right. Your new grade and pay rate show on your Work Profile.
Step 8: Start Change Job.
New job, even in another state? Scroll down and tap Change Job near the bottom. Each page starts with your current details picked.
Step 9: What do you do?
Keep your profession, or pick a new one. In this example, we keep Nurse / Midwife. Tap Continue at the bottom.
Step 10: Where do you work?
In this example, we keep Australia. Tap Continue.
Step 11: Any extra pages.
Some jobs have an extra page here, such as which award covers you or which employer you work for. In this example, we keep State Public Award. Tap Continue.
Step 12: Pick your new state.
Tap your new state. In this example, Queensland. Tap Continue.
Step 13: Pick your role again.
After a move, the role list starts empty. Scroll down and tap your role to see its grades. In this example, Registered Nurse/Midwife.
Step 14: Pick your grade.
Tap your grade. In this example, Pay Point 4. Tap Continue.
Step 15: Check your employment details.
Check Permanent or Casual and your work hours. In this example, we keep them. Made a mistake? Tap the back arrow at the top left to go back a page, then Continue to come forward again. Cancel at the top closes Change Job without changing anything. Tap Continue.
Step 16: Check your pay cycle.
Check how often you're paid and your pay period dates. In this example, we keep Fortnightly. Tap Continue.
Step 17: Choose when the change starts.
The last page shows what's changing. (It says When did you move? for a move to another state.) Scroll down to the calendar and tap the day you started. In this example, 31 October. A date before a change you've already saved shows a warning, because saving would replace that change. Shifts before this date keep your current pay.
Step 18: Tap Confirm.
Your roster, notes and history stay as they are. Tap Confirm at the bottom.
Step 19: Check Job History.
Scroll down and tap Job History near the bottom. Each job shows the dates it pays, and each shift keeps the pay of the job on its date. Job History can't be edited. To fix a change, run Change Job again from the right date.
Step 20: Back to Settings.
Tap the back arrow twice to go back to Settings. Your job card now shows your new job. More than one job? Multi-Job Mode gives each job its own profile instead.
Good to know
- Earlier shifts keep their pay. Shifts before the date you pick are worked out with your old job, grade or details. Shifts on or after it use the new ones.
- Casual or permanent? Change it under Employment on your Work Profile. It asks for the date it started.
- Part-time? Under Your FTE on your Work Profile, tap the "1.0 FTE ›" text to change your FTE (0.01 to 1.00) from a date.
- Same job, just a new state? Tap your state under Where You Work. It asks when you moved.
- The date box starts on today, or on the last date you used that grade.
- If none of your shifts fall on or after the date you pick, the box tells you, so you can check the date.
- Picking a date earlier than a change you've already saved replaces that later change. The last page warns you first.
- Job History can't be edited or deleted. To fix a change, run Change Job again from the right date.
- Custom Role (your own rate and pay rules for one role) has its own tutorial: custom-role.
- Global and Shift Worker jobs set their own hourly rate, penalty rates and allowances: see custom-pay-rules.
- Multi-Job Mode (Settings › Multi-Job Mode) gives each job its own profile, and replaces Change Job.
