Step 2: Choose From My Contract.
On What do you do?, scroll down. Below the line under the job types, tap From My Contract.
Step 3: Continue.
Tap Continue.
Step 4: Read what it sets up.
The page explains what MyRoster can set up from your document: your pay rate and pay rises, penalty rates, overtime, on-call pay and allowances. You get a notification when it's done, so you don't need to wait. Documents must be English PDFs up to 600 pages; typed documents work best. Tap Choose PDF.
Step 5: Pick your document.
Find your contract, award or agreement in Files and tap it.
Step 6: Check the file.
Document Received shows the file's name. Picked the wrong file? Tap Choose a Different PDF. Otherwise tap Continue.
Step 7: Choose where you work.
Pick your region, then tap Continue. In this example, we kept Australia.
Step 8: Choose your state.
Tap your state, then Continue. In this example, New South Wales. Your state sets which public holidays apply.
Step 9: Set your pay day.
Answer the rest of the setup questions as usual, starting with when you get paid.
Step 10: Turn on notifications.
Tap Enable Notifications so you know when your pay setup is ready.
Step 11: Finish the last questions.
Answer the last few setup questions. Maybe Later skips the optional ones.
Step 12: Check the summary.
You're All Set! shows that your pay will come from your document. Tap Continue.
Step 13: Let it read.
MyRoster reads your document. This can take a few minutes. Already using MyRoster? You don't have to wait: tap Keep using MyRoster.
Step 14: See how it's going.
Tap Settings at the bottom right. The row at the top shows Reading your document while it reads. When it's ready, the row changes to Your pay setup is ready.
Step 15: Open the notification.
You also get a notification. Tap it to open Your Pay Setup.
Step 16: Check your job.
MyRoster filled this in from your document. Check each part against your payslip and change anything that's wrong, like your role name. In this example, we typed Support Worker and tapped Done.
Step 17: Check your pay rate and pay rises.
Your hourly rate and any pay rises are listed with their start dates. Under Day Types, tap a day to check its rates. In this example, Saturday.
Step 18: Check a day's rates.
Change anything here if it's wrong, then tap the back arrow at the top left.
Step 19: Switch on your allowances.
Overtime and other rules are further down. Under Allowances, switch on the ones you're paid. In this example, Laundry.
Step 20: See what's left to add.
Anything MyRoster couldn't set up is listed under Not Set Up Automatically, so you can add it yourself. Tap a page number to see where something came from in your document.
Step 21: Close the document.
Tap Done to go back.
Step 22: Save.
Nothing changes until you save. Happy with it? Tap Save. You can change your pay rules any time in Settings.
Good to know
- Always check Your Pay Setup against your payslip before saving. It's a starting point, not a guarantee.
- Not ready to save? Tap Close at the top left, then Keep for Later. Come back to it from the row at the top of Settings.
- Check These appears near the top when MyRoster wants you to look at something first.
- Documents must be English PDFs up to 600 pages. Typed documents work best; photos or scans may not read well. A file that can't be read doesn't count toward your reads.
- Can't Use This File means the PDF is locked, too large, has too many pages or can't be read.
- Taking longer than 5 minutes? The reading screen offers Set up by hand and Email us.
- If your document is an award or agreement MyRoster already has built in, you're offered the built-in setup instead: Use the built-in setup, Read it anyway or Set up by hand.
- If a read fails, you can Try again, Choose another file, Set up by hand or Email us.
- Leave & Super on the review holds your leave loading and employer super. Worked Examples at the end show sample pay for the rules you have.
- After saving, change your pay rules any time in Settings › Work Profile › Custom Pay Rules (see the custom-pay-rules tutorial).
