Notes

  • •Rates are hourly. Full-time nurses work 37.5 hours a week on 7.5-hour or 11-hour shifts (a 12-hour shift pays 11 hours; meals are unpaid). The agreement’s annual figures are the hourly rate × 1,956.6 hours (37.5 × 52.176 weeks), so the annual toggle here uses that basis.
  • •You move up one step after every 1,956 paid straight-time hours, not on an anniversary. New hires start on the step that matches their recent experience.
  • •The 1 February 2024 rates include a 3% general increase plus a 9% market adjustment to the Registered Nurses table.
  • •The agreement expired on 31 January 2025 and its terms continue while PIPSC and Yukon Hospital Corporation bargain, so the 1 February 2024 rates are still paid. A settlement is likely to be back-paid.
  • •Hospital RNs are a continuous operation: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day run from 20:00 the evening before, and a shift that crosses midnight belongs to the day it starts.
  • •Covers registered nurses at Whitehorse General, Dawson City Community and Watson Lake Community hospitals. Remote-community bonuses under YHC policy HR-35 aren’t in the agreement and aren’t shown.
