Notes
- •Rates are hourly, as printed in Appendix "A". Full-time is 37.5 hours a week (75 a fortnight): an 8-hour shift pays 7.5 hours and a 12-hour shift pays 11.25 hours. The yearly figures shown are the hourly rate × 1,950 hours (37.5 × 52), the agreement's own full-time year.
- •The last rises in this agreement were 1.75% from 1 April 2024 and 1% from 1 October 2024. The 1 October 2024 rates are the latest; no later rates have been agreed.
- •The agreement expired on 31 March 2025 and stays in force until a new one is reached (Art. 58.3). Bargaining began on 24 June 2025; PEINU left the table on 18 September 2026 and a conciliation officer was appointed in October 2026. Nurses can't strike, so an impasse goes to binding arbitration. Any increase is likely to be back-paid.
- •You move up one step for every 1,950 paid hours, not counting overtime. New hires get a step for each 1,950 hours of experience in the last 5 years.
- •The 10-year and 15-year rates replace the step rate for permanent nurses with 10 or 15 years as an RN and/or NP, from the first full pay period after you reach the years and tell your employer. Nurse practitioners must first finish NP Steps 1 to 6.
- •A province-wide reclassification placed every RN position into one of eight new groupings, effective 23 June 2025 and back-dated to 1 April 2024, with a pay rise for nurses placed at a higher level. Payslips now show your grouping rather than RN1 to RN4. The new grouping-to-rate tables are on PEINU's members-only portal, so this page shows the RN1 to RN4 grid as printed; check which grid rate your grouping is paid with PEINU or Health PEI.
- •Casual nurses get 12% on top of their step rate instead of statutory holidays and vacation. Part-time nurses get vacation, sick leave and holidays pro rata to their hours.
- •Premiums are flat dollar amounts. The weekend premium stacks with the evening or night premium, and shift and weekend premiums are also paid on overtime, call-back hours, the unknown-vacancy premium and holiday pay.
- •Holidays: New Year's Day, Islander Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, plus a floating holiday taken before 30 November. Easter Monday and the August civic holiday aren't holidays under this agreement.
- •Two 2025 memorandum premiums, the Critical Shift premium and the premium for extra evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts (both an extra half of the regular rate), ran from 1 April to 15 September 2025 only and weren't renewed.

Notes
- •Rates are hourly, as printed in Schedule A-1 for Level 13A. Full-time is 37.5 hours a week: an 8-hour shift pays 7.5 hours and a 12-hour shift pays 11.25 hours. The yearly figures shown are the hourly rate × 1,950 hours (37.5 × 52).
- •The LPN grid starts at Step 2, so there are five steps (2 to 6). You move up one step for every 1,950 hours of work or paid leave, not counting overtime.
- •The 10-year and 15-year rates replace the step rate for permanent employees with 10 or 15 years of service with Health PEI (a year is 1,950 regular hours), from the date of signing, 20 February 2025.
- •Schedule A-1 prints a separate 31 March 2025 column for LPNs, the day before the 1 April 2025 rise. The 20 February 2025 column is the date of signing, when the 10-year and 15-year rates and the premiums shown began; Steps 2 to 6 in that column are the 1 October 2024 rates still in force.
- •The agreement's term ended on 31 March 2026. It renews from year to year unless either side gives notice to bargain (Art. 52.01); no new agreement has been published.
- •A holiday runs for 24 hours from midnight. Holidays: New Year's Day, Islander Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (30 September), Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, plus a floating holiday taken before 30 November.
- •Only one premium is paid for the same hours (Art. 49.01), except that the weekend premium is paid on top of the shift premium. Overtime is counted to the nearest quarter hour, and periods under 15 minutes aren't claimed.
- •The same agreement covers other Health PEI classifications (for example resident care workers and patient care workers); only the LPN rates are shown here. RNs and NPs are on the PEINU agreement.
