Notes

  • •The agreement expired on 31 March 2024 and stays in force while SUN and SAHO bargain a new one. As at October 2026 there is no settlement, so the 1 April 2023 rates are current. A new agreement may back-date increases.
  • •Full-time hours average 224 every 6 weeks (80 a fortnight, less any additional days off), and a full-time year is 1,948.8 paid hours. A 12-hour shift pays 11.78 hours; a 10-hour shift pays 10.1.
  • •Nurse A is the general staff RN and RPN level; Nurse B and Nurse C are higher-rated positions set by the SAHO/SUN Position Evaluation Tool. Nurse A and B have six steps, Nurse C and nurse practitioners five, and graduate nurses one rate.
  • •Full-timers move up a step each year on their employment anniversary. Part-timers and casuals reach Step 2 after 1,948.8 hours or 12 months, whichever is later. From Step 2 they move half a step after 974.4 hours or one year, whichever is later, and to the full step after a further 974.4 hours, which is what the half-step columns are for (Art 64.06).
  • •The agreement covers registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, nurse practitioners and graduate nurses with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and affiliated employers. Licensed practical nurses are on separate CUPE, SEIU-West or SGEU agreements.
