Notes

  • The Australian Federal Police is the national police force and, through ACT Policing, the police force for the Australian Capital Territory — ACT community policing is delivered by AFP members under this Agreement, so there is no separate ACT police award.
  • The AFP pays by classification BAND, not by traditional rank. In the sworn stream the Agreement maps Bands 2–5 to Constable and Bands 6–7 to Sergeant; AFP rank titles such as Leading Senior Constable, Station Sergeant, Superintendent and Commander sit across these bands. Bands 1 and 8 are unsworn AFP Employee classifications.
  • The 2024/2025/2026 columns are the three award-wide pay increases that apply to every salary point: +4.5% on commencement, +4.0% twelve months later and +2.7% twenty-four months later.
  • Normal Working Hours are 38 ordinary hours per week plus at least two additional paid (meal-break) hours — an average 40-hour week.
  • Employees on the Operations or Rostered Operations pattern receive a Core Composite of 22% of base salary in lieu of afternoon/night-shift, weekend and public-holiday penalties (it counts for superannuation). High-volume Operations roles add a further 35%, and a declared Critical Event attracts 70%. Night Shift and Unsociable Hours allowances are paid on top.
  • Executive Level classifications are single salary points with no incremental pay points. Senior Executive Service roles above the Executive Level are set under separate determinations and are not part of this Agreement.
  • Figures are the base annual salary in $AUD, as published in the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2024–2027 (Attachment A — Bands 1–8 and Technical Specialist Levels 1–4; Attachment B — Executive Level). Source: https://www.afp.gov.au/sites/default/files/2024-12/AFP-Enterprise-Agreement2024-2027.pdf
