Jump to a step
Step 1: Open Quick Add.
On the Roster, tap the purple calendar button at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Choose what to add.
Shifts is picked for you. Leave, Overtime and Events work the same way.
Step 3: Pick a template.
Tap the template for your shift. We used Morning.
Step 4: Tap your days.
Tap each day you're working; a green tick shows it's picked. Tapped the wrong day? Tap it again to remove it. The bar at the bottom shows how many days you've picked, like "3 days selected".
Step 5: Add them.
Tap Add at the top right. Your shifts appear on the roster.
Step 6: Change one shift.
Tap the shift's day, then tap the pencil at the top. The Edit Shift screen opens.
Step 7: Make your change.
Change anything you like. To change a time, tap it, spin the wheel, then tap the word next to it (like End) to close the wheel. We changed the end time to 4:30 pm.
Step 8: Save it.
Tap Save at the top right.
Step 9: Delete one shift.
Tap the shift's day, tap the trash at the top, then tap Delete. Deleting can't be undone.
Step 10: Shortcut: touch and hold a day.
Touch and hold any day for a menu to add a shift, leave, an event, a note or a photo, or to change or delete that day's shift. Tap outside the menu to close it.
Step 11: Pick several shifts to change.
Touch and hold the pencil at the top, tap Select Multiple Shifts, then tap each shift you want to change.
Step 12: Change them all at once.
Tap Edit (3) at the top (the number is how many shifts you picked). Change only what you need: only what you change is copied to every picked shift, and each shift keeps its own date. In this example, we scrolled down to Shift Color and picked sky blue.
Step 13: Save.
Tap Save. Only the colour changed; each shift keeps its own times.
Step 14: Delete several shifts.
Touch and hold the trash at the top, tap Select Multiple Shifts, then tap each shift you want to delete. Tap Delete (2) at the top, then Delete 2 Shifts to confirm. This can't be undone.
Step 15: Made a mistake?
If you've picked shifts by accident, tap Cancel at the top. Nothing changes.
Good to know
- Quick Add keeps your picks across months. Scroll to the next month and keep tapping days; everything you picked is added together.
- Days that already have a shift get a second one. Quick Add doesn't warn you, so check the days you tap.
- Leave in Quick Add adds a single day of leave on each day you pick.
- On call can't be quick-added. Use + › Add Manually and the On Call tab instead. See "How to add on call".
- No templates yet? Save one from the Add Shift form first. See "How to add a shift and save it as a template".
- Changing the date in Edit Shift moves the shift to that day.
- The shift code (A, P, N, M, 12D or 12N) is worked out again from the new times when you change them. A custom shift code you typed yourself is kept.
- Several entries on one day? When you tap the pencil or trash, it asks which one you mean.
- Leave, overtime and events open their own edit screens from the pencil. On call has its own editor too.
- A shift that's part of a repeat asks whether to change just that shift or the others too. See "How to change or delete repeating shifts".
- There's no undo. Deleting one shift or several can't be undone, so check before you tap Delete.
- Select Multiple Shifts covers shifts only. Leave and events aren't included, and it skips on call, sleepovers and overtime on its own.
- Repeat shifts in Select Multiple Shifts change one by one, without the repeat question; only the shifts you picked change.
- Your picks are kept across months in Select Multiple Shifts too.
