  10. 10Change this shift and the later ones.
  11. 11Made a mistake?
  12. 12Delete a repeating shift.
  1. Step 1: Find a repeating shift.

On the Roster, tap one of the shifts in your repeat to see it.

    • These 12D shifts repeat every 2 weeks.
    • Tap one of them to see it.
  2. Step 2: Check it's part of a repeat.

Swipe the box up. The Repeat label means the shift is part of a repeat. Tap the X to close the box.

    • Swipe the box up.
    • Repeat means it's part of a repeat.
    • Tap the X to close it.
  3. Step 3: Open the shift.

With the day still picked, tap the pencil at the top of the Roster. The Edit Shift screen opens. In this example, we start just this one shift an hour early.

    • First, we'll start just this shift an hour early.
    • With the day picked, tap the pencil at the top.
  4. Step 4: Make your change.

Tap Start, spin the wheel to the new time, then tap outside the wheel to close it. We changed the start to 6:00 am.

    • Tap Start.
    • Spin the wheel to 6:00 am.
    • Tap outside the wheel to close it.
  5. Step 5: Save just this shift.

Tap Save at the top right. Because the shift is part of a repeat, MyRoster asks which shifts to change: Save for This Shift Only, Save for This and Later Shifts, or Save for All Shifts in This Repeat. Not sure? Tap outside the box to go back to your changes. We chose Save for This Shift Only.

    • Tap Save at the top right.
    • It asks: just this shift, this one and later ones, or all 12?
    • Not sure? Tap outside the box to go back to your changes.
    • In this example, we'll tap Save for This Shift Only.
  6. Step 6: Check the change.

Tap the day: it now starts at 6:00 am. The other shifts in the repeat still start at 7:00 am.

    • Tap the day: it now starts at 6:00 am.
    • Tap the next shift: it still starts at 7:00 am.
  7. Step 7: Change every shift in the repeat.

In this example, we add a Role Tag to every shift. Tap any shift in the repeat (we used the first), then tap the pencil.

    • Next, we'll add a Role Tag to every shift in the repeat.
    • Tap the first shift.
    • Tap the pencil.
  8. Step 8: Add a Role Tag.

Tap Role Tag and type a short tag, like GD.

    • Tap Role Tag and type a short tag, like GD.
  9. Step 9: Save all of them.

Tap Save, then Save for All 12 Shifts in This Repeat. On the first shift of a repeat there are only two choices, because "this and later" would be all of them anyway. Every shift in the repeat now shows the tag. Shifts that aren't in the repeat, like the night shifts here, aren't changed.

    • Tap Save.
    • On the first shift, there are just two choices.
    • Tap Save for All 12 Shifts in This Repeat.
    • Every shift in the repeat now shows GD.
    • The night shifts aren't in the repeat, so they stay as they were.
  10. Step 10: Change this shift and the later ones.

Tap the first shift you want to change (we used Monday 16 November), tap the pencil, and make your change. We scrolled down to Shift Color and picked orange. Tap Save, then Save for This and Later Shifts. The shifts from that day on change; the earlier ones keep their colour.

    • Now, a new colour from 16 November on.
    • Tap Monday 16 November.
    • Tap the pencil.
    • Scroll down a little to Shift Color.
    • In this example, we'll pick orange.
    • Tap Save.
    • Tap Save for This and Later Shifts (8).
    • From 16 November on, the shifts are orange. Earlier ones keep their colour.
  11. Step 11: Made a mistake?

If you've changed something on the Edit Shift screen and don't want to keep it, tap Cancel at the top left. Nothing is saved, and the shift stays as it was.

    • Made a mistake while editing?
    • Tap Thursday 12 November.
    • Tap the pencil.
    • Say you scroll down and pick the wrong colour…
    • Tap Cancel at the top left. Nothing is saved.
    • Thursday 12 November is just as it was.
  12. Step 12: Delete a repeating shift.

Pick the day and tap the trash at the top. MyRoster asks whether to delete This Shift Only, This and Later Shifts, or All Shifts in This Repeat. We chose Delete This Shift Only: that day is now free, and the rest of the repeat stays.

    • To delete it, keep the day picked and tap the trash at the top.
    • It asks again: this shift, this and later, or all 12.
    • To change the days or the end date, delete This and Later, then add a new repeat.
    • In this example, we'll tap Delete This Shift Only.
    • Thursday 12 November is free. The rest of the repeat stays.

Good to know

  • Shortcut: touch and hold a shift on the Roster for a menu with Edit and Delete.
  • Only what you change is copied. If you change the times, only the times (and unpaid break) go to the other shifts. The same goes for allowances, the look of the shift (shift code, colour, Role Tag, Show Shift Code), location, In Charge and Penalty Rates. Notes and dates are never copied.
  • Shifts you changed before keep their own changes, unless you change the same thing again for the whole repeat. In the video, the 6:00 am start stayed when we added the tag to every shift.
  • This and Later starts from the shift you're editing, not from today. It isn't offered on the first or last shift of a repeat.
  • Changing the date of a repeating shift only moves that one shift ("The new date only applies to this shift."). Any other changes follow the choice you tap.
  • To change the pattern itself (the days, every how many weeks, or the end date), delete This and Later from the first shift you want to change, then add a new repeat. See How to add shifts that repeat.
  • There's no undo, so check before you save or delete.
  • Changing several shifts at once? Selecting several shifts (hold the pencil or trash, then Select Multiple Shifts) doesn't ask the repeat question; it changes just the shifts you pick. See How to quick-add, change and delete shifts.
  • The 12D on the calendar comes from the shift's length: a change that makes a shift shorter than 11 hours shows A, P or N instead.
