Notes

  • These figures are the full-time annual base salary in Australian dollars under MOCA7, at the rates payable from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026. MOCA7 delivers increases of 3% from 1 July 2025, 2.5% from 1 July 2026 and 2.5% from 1 July 2027 (each with a possible CPI uplift on top); the schedule's 1 July 2025 and 1 July 2027 columns are not reproduced here.
  • Ordinary full-time hours are 38 per week (a 76-hour fortnight). The schedule's hourly rates are the fortnightly salary divided by 76 hours, except the Senior Consultant (L29) hourly rate, which is only published on an 80-hour-fortnight basis.
  • Queensland Health pays medical officers on a single classification scale from L1 to L29; this table shows the key steps from intern (L1) to senior consultant (L29) rather than every level.
  • Weekend, shift, overtime and public-holiday penalties are set by the underpinning Medical Officers' (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015; the extended-hours loadings for senior medical officers come from the certified agreement.
  • On-call and recall rates are not listed: on-call for resident medical officers is paid as a flat amount per occasion, and senior medical officer on-call and recall are calculated from the individual doctor's own hourly rate, so there is no single published dollar schedule.
  • Employer superannuation is 12.75%. Medical officers receive six weeks of annual leave (with 17.5% leave loading), 12 days of study leave and 10 days of sick leave per year.
  • Allowance amounts are the dollar schedules published from 1 July 2024 under the certified agreement and carried forward — the professional development allowances are unchanged under MOCA7.
