Notes
- •These figures are the annual base salary in Australian dollars at the final pay increment of the 2023-2026 determination, effective 4 December 2025. The determination publishes a single current salary column, so each classification lists one dated rate.
- •The determination was made by a Fair Work Commission Full Bench in November 2025 to settle bargaining for ACT public sector medical practitioners. Its nominal expiry of 31 March 2026 has passed, but it continues to operate until a replacement agreement is made.
- •Ordinary full-time hours are 38 per week. The determination also publishes weekly and hourly equivalents for each classification (the hourly rate is the weekly rate divided by 38); only the annual salaries are shown here.
- •Only the entry rate of each Career Medical Officer and Specialist scale is shown — CMO 1, CMO 2 and the Specialist band structure have further steps above the rates listed.
- •ACT public sector doctors receive 11.5% employer superannuation, five weeks of annual leave (with the 17.5% leave loading shown under Penalties) and 18 days of personal leave per year.
- •Doctors on home-based (passive) on-call receive an on-call allowance per period set by the determination (rate not reproduced here), with recall paid as overtime at a minimum of two hours including travel time. Continuous duty is capped at 16 hours, followed by a minimum eight-hour break.
- •Covers medical practitioners employed in the ACT public health system (Canberra Health Services and ACT Health), from interns through to senior specialists.
